At Belliston Academy, we highly value uniformity and dress code. We require all dancers to wear black leotards, theatrical pink tights and ballet shoes to class. RAD classes require grade level specific leotard colors, character shoes and skirts. Female dancers must wear their hair up in a bun. Male dancers are required to wear a white t-shirt, black tights and black ballet shoes.  Consult our dress code for specific details.

Leather ballet shoes are required for class. They are lightweight and flexible, with a snug fit that allows for proper articulation of the feet. We recommend purchasing leather ballet shoes with a full sole for beginners and split sole for intermediate and advanced students. Our staff can provide more guidance on selecting the right shoes for your dancer's level.

Yes, we offer a complimentary placement class for new students who want to try class before committing to a full session or season. This allows your dancer to experience our teaching style, meet our instructors, and determine if our studio is the right fit. It also allows us the opportunity to place your student in a class that is a right fit for them. Contact us to schedule a complimentary placement class. 

Class tuition depends on the number of classes your dancer attends each week. There is an annual Registration Fee as well as additional fees throughout the season. Please check our website or contact us for our current pricing. 

Yes, all dancers participate in an end of the year recital called Spring Show. Our students have the opportunity to showcase their hard work in front of family, friends and the community. Spring Show is a great way to gain confidence, stage experience and have fun. We will provide more information about the recital as it approaches. 

No. Belliston Ballet holds a Nutcracker audition each season. Dancers must be 8 years old to audition and dancers not on pointe must be in a minimum of two ballet classes. Dancers on pointe must be in a minimum of four ballet classes per week to audition. Visit bellistonballet.org for more information about upcoming auditions and show information. 

Absolutely! Ballet is a beautiful and challenging art form that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of gender. Our male students have the opportunity to develop strength, agility, and artistry through ballet training. We encourage boys and men to try ballet and discover the joy and benefits of this timeless art form.

If dancers are enrolled in a Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) or Cecchetti (CCA) class, they may be invited to examine out of their current grade level. CCA exams are in the Fall (October) and RAD exams are in the Spring (March-April).
